Elon Musk has confirmed that additional Tesla diners are in development, reinforcing earlier signals that the company intends to scale its combined charging-and-food concept. The announcement comes shortly after he hinted at a possible new location in Palo Alto, California, indicating that the idea is moving beyond a single-site experiment.
The confirmation was shared on X, where Musk reposted a video from Tesla North America showing drivers ordering food directly from their vehicles while heading toward the West Hollywood diner. In the post, he stated, “More Tesla Diners coming,” making the company’s expansion intent explicit.
The latest confirmation follows Musk’s response on April 15, when he replied “Sure” to a suggestion about opening a Tesla diner in Palo Alto. That response revived a proposal he had previously mentioned in October 2025.
At the time, Musk had said it would “probably make sense to open one near our Giga Texas HQ in Austin and engineering HQ in Palo Alto.” The renewed reference to these locations indicates that Tesla may still be considering aligning diner expansion with its operational hubs.
This approach suggests that the diner concept is not being treated as a standalone venture but as part of a broader ecosystem connected to Tesla’s infrastructure and presence.
Shortly after launching the Los Angeles diner in July 2025, Musk outlined a wider plan for the concept. He stated that if the initial model proved successful, Tesla could extend it to major cities and along long-distance Supercharger routes.
He also previously pointed to a potential location in Starbase, Texas, linking the diner idea with the broader Tesla and SpaceX ecosystem. This positioning indicates that Tesla views the concept as scalable infrastructure rather than a one-off restaurant.
The strategy appears to depend on real-world performance data from the first site before committing to a larger rollout.
The existing Tesla diner at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood is currently the primary testing location. The site includes more than 250 dining seats, a rooftop “Skypad” with city views, two large movie screens, and 80 V4 Supercharger stalls.
Tesla has described it as the largest urban Supercharging station in the world, combining charging capacity with a full dining experience. The location functions as both a service hub and a consumer-facing experiment in integrating food, entertainment, and vehicle charging.
The diner initially offered a menu centered on classic American items such as burgers, shakes, fried chicken and waffles, and tuna melts. However, high demand led to a rapid simplification of offerings.
While Tesla has not released detailed operating metrics, an earlier report indicated that approximately 50,000 burgers were sold in the third quarter of last year. This figure highlights strong customer uptake even after the menu was scaled back.
The data point underscores the potential viability of the concept as Tesla evaluates expansion into additional markets.
Shares of TSLA, the ticker for Tesla Inc., closed 0.78% lower at $388.90 on Thursday. The stock declined a further 0.19% in after-hours trading.
On a broader timeline, Tesla shares are down 11.22% year-to-date but remain up 61% over the past year. The stock movement provides context as the company continues to explore new business formats alongside its core automotive operations.
Tesla’s diner concept is moving toward expansion, with strong demand and Musk’s confirmation pointing to a broader multi-location rollout strategy.
