‘This was an unfortunate situation’: Bonnie Rotten reconciles with Jesse James after her arrest over alleged assault incident

The arrest of Bonnie Rotten, estranged wife of Jesse James, has taken a more serious turn after new details revealed the alleged assault directly involved James himself—adding a personal and physical dimension to an already volatile relationship.




According to a police report, Jesse James told authorities that Bonnie Rotten, whose real name is Alaina James, struck him multiple times in the face during an altercation and also bit his right thumb. Officers who responded to the scene noted visible injuries consistent with his account, including dark red marks near his right eye and along his neck. James reportedly complained of pain around his face and eye. While police did not find clear bite marks on his thumb, they determined there was enough evidence to proceed, leading to her arrest without a warrant.




Alaina was taken into custody in Hays County, Texas, and booked on a charge of assault causing bodily injury involving a family member. The incident adds to a long history of public disputes between the couple, who married in June 2022. Their relationship has seen multiple breakups, divorce filings, and serious allegations from both sides, including claims of domestic abuse. In 2024, both had sought restraining orders against each other during one of their most intense legal clashes.




In a surprising twist, Bonnie Rotten later indicated that the couple is still together. She stated that Jesse James picked her up from jail following her release and described the incident as an “unfortunate situation.” According to her, they spent a quiet family night together afterward and are now trying to work through their issues while seeking help privately.
