Today marks 17 years of The Vampire Diaries, and fans are revisiting its thrill and intrigue. The supernatural teen drama which is based on the L.J. Smith’s book series of the same name, is set in the town of Mystical falls, and its supernatural history just makes up everything that happens with the characters of The Vampires Diaries. If you’ve been a fan of the show and feel like you just can't get enough of the intrigue it provides, here are other shows that could give you a similar experience.


​Buffy the Vampire Slayer is yet another supernatural teen drama filled with romance and horror. The concept of the show is based on the 1992 film by Whedon. ​True Blood is an American fantasy horror drama which is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries which is basically a series of novels by Charlaine Harris. The story is about Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress who is a telepath. It shows what happens two years after the synthetic blood called Tru Blood has been invented. It talks about the vampires' struggle for rights and assimilation.
