If fatigue with regard to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has already set in, let Bollywood show you how to take the rice bucket challenge - an initiative that could make a instant difference to a needy person who isn't halfway across the globe.
The challenge, that was the brainchild of Hyderabad's Manju Latha Kalanidhi, gained currency over the weekend with the likes of Mahesh Bhatt, Farah Khan and Karan Johar accepting and completing the same.
The rice bucket challenge prompts you to donate a bucket (or bowl) of rice to an unprivileged person or family. Mahesh Bhatt was seen handing out several bowls of Hyderabadi biryani to families at the Taj Falaknuma in Hyderabad on the weekend.
After completing the deed, Mahesh Bhatt went on to nominate Karan Johar to follow in his footsteps.
The Dharma Productions head was quick to follow Bhatt's lead, tweeting a photo of four buckets of uncooked rice that were donated to the needy.
Even before Bhatt and Johar had jumped onto the rice bucket challenge bandwagon, 'Happy New Year' director Farah Khan was leading the way. Khan had tweeted this adorable picture of her triplets, after they emptied their piggy banks to pay for rice and cooking oil to donate.
