Who was Leyton Hernandez?

According to PrimeTimer, Leyton Hernandez was a 28-year-old son of Dr Roland Hernandez, superintendent of the Corpus Christi Independent School District (CCISD), and his wife Dr Cynthia Hernandez.

CCISD confirmed his passing in a statement, noting that the family - including his sister, Lauren Stinson - is mourning his loss following a two-vehicle accident outside the Coastal Bend. A graduate of King High School and Texas State University (TXST) in 2020, Leyton was a dedicated educator at Veterans Memorial High School, where he taught for five years and coached multiple sports.

A former student-athlete and college football recruit, he was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at TXST. CCISD highlighted his long-standing bond with his father, sharing a nine-year tradition of attending the state football championship together.

Corpus Christi ISD further noted that the “Hernandez family appreciates the outpouring of condolences and warm memories.” The school district confirmed that its “crisis counselling team will be available to students and staff” upon schools' reopening on Monday, March 16. As of this writing, the Funeral arrangements are pending."
