The big who-will-succeed-this-Friday war usually gets more competitive when two big films release on the same day, and it so happened when Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer 'Khoobsurat' released on the same Friday as the Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer 'Daawat-E-Ishq'.
'Khoobsurat' is a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's classic of the same name that starred Rekha and Rakesh Roshan. The buzz around the film was huge with Sonam Kapoor reprising the role of veteran actress Rekha. Also the fact that Pakistani actor Fawad Khan who already became a hit with his TV show 'Zindagi Gulzaar Hai' was touted to be another eye candy.
On the other hand, Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer 'Daawat-E-Ishq' appealed to the masses even before its release because of the gripping trailer. However, according to a report in Koimoi, the first day collections of both the films loomed around being average. While 'Khoobsurat' managed to collect Rs 3 crores on its opening day, 'Daawat-E-Ishq' made Rs 4.5 crores on Day 1.
Let's see which film wins the box office race this week.
