D4vd's 'decay' tweet resurfaces after court testimony revealed new details in the Celeste Rivas Hernandez murder investigation

More than a year after it was posted, a single word from singer D4vd has become one of the most discussed topics on social media. His April 30, 2025 X post simply read "decay," but users are now revisiting it after disturbing details from the Celeste Rivas Hernandez murder case emerged during recent court hearings.


Although investigators have not linked the tweet to the case, its timing has led to widespread online debate, with many calling it an eerie coincidence while others have urged caution against jumping to conclusions.

The renewed attention began after the X account @FearedBuck shared a screenshot of D4vd's old post alongside a timeline of the murder case. The tweet quickly spread across the platform, collecting millions of views and tens of thousands of likes as users discussed whether its timing was simply unfortunate or something more.

Many pointed out that the post appeared seven days after prosecutors say 14 year old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was last seen alive on April 23, 2025, when she allegedly travelled by Uber to D4vd's rented Hollywood Hills home. Some users also noted that this period broadly overlaps with the early stages of human decomposition under typical conditions, although no medical or legal authority has connected the tweet to those findings.


D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to charges including first degree murder, continual sexual abuse of a child under 14 and mutilation of human remains.

According to prosecutors, Burke had an ongoing sexual relationship with Celeste that allegedly began when she was 13 years old. They claim he killed her after she threatened to reveal the relationship, fearing it could damage his career around the release of his debut album.

Investigators allege Celeste's body was later dismembered and hidden inside Burke's Tesla, where her remains were discovered months later after the vehicle was impounded. During recent preliminary hearings, prosecutors presented DNA evidence, digital records and text messages that they say support their case.

Medical experts who testified during the preliminary hearing said Celeste died from multiple stab wounds. They also told the court that the condition of her remains made it difficult to determine every detail surrounding her death because of extensive postmortem decomposition.

Prosecutors have continued to build their case using forensic evidence and witness testimony. Burke's defence team, however, maintains his innocence and has denied the allegations made against him.
