Is Samsung having a meltdown over new Apple iPhone Duo? X roast calls the $1,999 device 'reheated leftovers' as the phone enters the foldable race
Samsung wasted no time roasting Apple after the iPhone Duo became the company’s first foldable iPhone. From calling it “reheated leftovers” to bragging about “folding 3 ways,” Samsung’s X account turned Apple’s big launch into a savage social media showdown, with users joining the Samsung versus Apple fight.
Samsung was waiting for this one

Then Samsung just kept going
Another post mocked the Duo's bedside clock functionality with: “Not the bed side clock. It's giving groundhog day.” At this point, it was less a corporate response and more Samsung live tweeting an Apple event while pretending not to care. The internet, naturally, noticed. One X user summed up the spectacle by joking that Samsung seemed “more excited about the iPhone than Apple.” Another defended Apple, arguing that “Samsung is scared” because Apple entering foldables could finally push the category into the mainstream.

Duolingo somehow got dragged into it
That little detour somehow made the whole Samsung Apple fight even funnier. What started as Samsung mocking Apple's foldable had briefly become Samsung, Apple and Duolingo fighting for attention on the same timeline.
The iPhone Duo’s dreamlike transition animation. This is a level of elegance Samsung will never be able to surpass.

I’d even tell Samsung this: you might as well give up on the foldable market. You don’t stand a chance anymore. pic.twitter.com/U9E4MZ6CFp
Is Samsung actually worried?
Now Apple has arrived with a $1,999 book style phone that opens into a 7.6 inch display, backed by the iPhone name and Apple's massive ecosystem. One X user put the dilemma bluntly: “Apple didn't invent foldables, but they might be the ones who finally make everyone want one.”
That is probably the part Samsung cannot meme away. Apple does not need to prove that it invented foldables; it only needs to make them desirable to millions of existing iPhone users. For now, though, Samsung gets the internet's favourite moment from Apple's big night. The iPhone Duo may be Apple's first foldable, but Samsung made sure everyone remembered who was already folding phones when Apple was still sitting this one out.
