Who is Pietra Bertolazzi? Brazilian conservative influencer calls BTS 'effeminate'; leaves social media after facing ARMYs wrath

Brazilian conservative influencer Pietra Bertolazzi has found herself at the center of a fierce online storm after her comments about BTS' 2026 FIFA World Cup halftime performance triggered outrage among the group's global fanbase.

The controversy escalated rapidly, with BTS fans — collectively known as ARMY — criticizing Bertolazzi over her remarks. It even got to a point she made her Instagram account private and announced that she was stepping away from social media.


Bertolazzi, 35, is a Brazilian conservative digital creator, entrepreneur, former DJ and political commentator with more than one million followers across social media. Her content focuses heavily on religion, politics, behaviour and traditional family values.

She identifies as a Roman Catholic and has become known for her anti-feminist views and outspoken conservative opinions.

Over the years, she has criticized feminism, opposed women's suffrage and even expressed support for a Catholic monarchy in which political authority would be centered in the institution rather than decided through elections.

Her views on gender roles have also sparked controversy, particularly her belief that women should be submissive to men.

The latest controversy erupted after BTS took the stage during the halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. While the performance attracted global attention, it also faced criticism from some viewers. The performance was later discussed on a news and political podcast hosted by American journalist Megyn Kelly.


Bertolazzi, however, sparked particular fury after questioning BTS' image and influence on younger audiences. In a post reacting to the performance, she described the members as "effeminate, vain men full of faces and poses" and said she found it troubling that they were considered role models by a younger generation.

She said, "Of everything I saw today at the World Cup final, nothing shocked me more than learning that a group of effeminate, vain men, full of faces and poses, who made me feel genuine secondhand embarrassment, are one of the biggest role models this current generation has. It's impossible that most people don't realize how serious this is."

The comments quickly spread across social media, drawing fierce condemnation from BTS fans and other internet users who accused Bertolazzi of making offensive remarks about the group.

The backlash reportedly intensified soon afterward, with Bertolazzi claiming that her personal information had been leaked and used without her consent.

According to reports and social media posts, individuals allegedly used her details to register her as a volunteer poll worker for elections in multiple Brazilian states. Others reportedly submitted an application for membership in Brazil's Workers' Party, a political party that Bertolazzi has frequently criticized, according to International Business Times.


Additional reports claimed that her home address was added to a presidential correspondence program, potentially resulting in political material being sent to her residence.

Her email address and phone number were also reportedly added to advertising and messaging lists, leading to unwanted communications. Profiles allegedly using her identity were reportedly created on platforms including OnlyFans, OLX and the food delivery service iFood.

Brazilian journalist Gabriel Perline also addressed the growing controversy on social media. He said Bertolazzi's comments about BTS had triggered the online retaliation and alleged that fans had used leaked personal information to sign her up for unwanted services. His post attracted significant attention as the dispute continued to spread across Brazilian social media.

Meanwhile, BTS fans continued criticizing Bertolazzi and reporting her social media accounts. Brazilian outlet Metrópoles also contacted the Workers' Party to verify whether a membership request had been submitted in her name.

As of the latest reports, the party had not publicly confirmed whether any registration had actually been processed. Bertolazzi's representatives had also not announced whether she had taken legal action or filed a police report over the alleged misuse of her personal information.


With her Instagram account now private and her online activity reduced, Bertolazzi has temporarily withdrawn from social media.

As the controversy continues to unfold, Bertolazzi remains away from the spotlight — while her comments about BTS continue to fuel debate across social media.

Before becoming a prominent conservative commentator, Bertolazzi studied fashion and worked in the fashion industry. She later moved into electronic music and performed as a DJ at some of Brazil's biggest events.

In 2016, she also appeared on the Brazilian reality television show Power Couple alongside her former husband, Mário Velloso. The couple were the second pair eliminated from the competition.

However, her career took a different direction after she became pregnant in 2018. Bertolazzi eventually stepped away from nightlife and entertainment before entering public service in São Paulo's government.

She later became a political commentator and debater on Brazilian broadcaster Jovem Pan, according to International Business Times. As her public profile grew, she increasingly focused on online content surrounding religion, culture, politics and behaviour.

She has also promoted religious education for women, written books and developed courses based on her conservative and religious beliefs.
